Do you sometimes feel more like a human ‘doing’ than a human ‘being’? What if there was a different way?
We can’t control events, but we can choose how we respond to them. We can choose how we show up.
Instead of adding to your ‘to-do’ list, try writing a ‘to-be’ list. How do you want to ‘be’ today, this week, this month? I encourage you to pause for 5 minutes right now ⏸️. Seriously. Put your pen down, stop typing and ask yourself: How do you want to be?
The interesting thing? Once you’ve taken a moment to reflect and choose how you want to be, your to-do list often looks quite different – shorter, more focused and more powerful 🎯.
I haven’t written a blog post for months and ‘getting back in the saddle’ has been tough. Sticking with the riding metaphor, my bike has been sitting unused in the garage for months. I’ve walked past it a few times and even thought about oiling the chain. But I haven’t come close to taking it for a ride. So, this morning I’m choosing to be positive, disciplined and a little playful – and I think it’s turning out just fine 😊.
Give writing a ‘to-be’ list a try. I’d love to hear how it goes.
👆That’s me projecting positivity, discipline and playfulness … or perhaps just cringing about taking another selfie 😬
